Over 2000 Benefit at Sacred Scrolls

The Islamic event of the summer by far had to be Sacred Scrolls, a seminar on the 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi offered from AlMaghrib Institute. The seminar was taught in only four Qabeelahs, and alhumdulillah Qabeelat Wasat of Chicago was selected among the Fantastic Four.

What was remarkable about this seminar was not just the awesome topic, but the fact that it was taught by two instructors. One was Shaykh Yasir Qadhi, AlMaghrib’s Academic Dean of Affairs and current Ph.D. student at Yale University. Shaykh Yasir studied Hadith during his undergraduate career at the Islamic University of Medinah and hearing him teach some of the gems of Imam Nawawi was exhilarating.

Sacred Scrolls also introduced the newest AlMaghrib Institute instructor, Imam Suhaib Webb. Imam Suhaib, a current student at Al-Azhar University, is a role model and leader all over the world. Alhumdulillah he totally owned the stage teaching with AlMaghrib.

It was an awesome experience; in Chicago we had a record of over 400 students, and nationwide over two thousand students around the country benefited from this class and combo of instructors in these past two weekends, wa alhumdulillah. Mixing both Imam Suhaib and his skill and the platform of AlMaghrib really led to this seminar being the Islamic event of the summer. Kind of like how KG helped take the Celtics to the championship for 2008! šŸ™‚

Check out this composed panoramic shot of Free Friday Night, with around 450 seated.

We praise and thank Allah for giving us this awesome experience and inshaAllah look forward to having Imam Suhaib teach many more AlMaghrib seminars in the future!
