Islamic Foundation is holding a Ramadan Qiyam this Labor Day Weekend from after Tarawih prayer on Saturday, September 5th, 2009 until Tarawih prayer on Sunday, September 6th, and will be filled with speeches and presentations from renowned local scholars, including AlMaghrib Institute instructor Yaser Birjas, and energetic young speakers. Currently, AlMaghrib Institute is holding its annual two week long retreat in Houston, TX called IlmSummit. It’s two entire weeks jam-packed with nothing but ‘ilm. There’s lots of knowledge and gems pouring out from the students there onto the Internet, especially from the amazing Tajweed teacher, br. Wisam Sharieff of Bayyinah Institute, and I highly recommend you check it out.
